Incorrect publication about Fatehyab Ali Khan

On 9 September 2011 Tariq Khalil of the News (published in Pakistan) reported on what he called Decision to become US ally wasn’t made in the blink of an eye.

Tariq Khalil falsely claimed:

Gauhar Ayub Khan, Kabeer Wasti, the late Sardar Farooq Leghari, Maulana Tahirul Qadri, Mir Hazar Khan Bijarani, Aitzaz Ahsan, Hasil Bizenjo, Hamid Nasir Chattha, Makhdoom Amin Faheem, Ajmal Khattak Mian Mohammad Azhar, Ilahi Bakhash Soomro, and Fatehyab Ali Khan were very enthusiastic about becoming ally of US.

The rest of the nonsense which was recklessly published by the above named “journalist” can be viewed via the following Blackbird Pie link:

Just for the record the News should note that Fatehyab Ali Khan never supported an alliance with the US on the say so of General Musharraf. Instead, he always rejected dictatorship and he endlessly fought for freedom.

Rather than misattribute erroneous facts by feeble reporting the likes of Tariq Khalil and his “news” organisation ought to do some research before reporting on the politics of Fatehyab Ali Khan who was a very great and honest man.

An apology from the News will be sought for their rudeness, misinformation and lack of ethics.

Fatehyab attended the meeting referred to in the news item. Since he had always opposed defence alliances with the United States, it is uncertain how enthusiastic he could have been about such an alliance after 9/11. He was a wise and pragmatic leader and we will all be wiser if we knew how the views of all the leaders who participated in that meeting were minuted.
